Home Sleep Testing in Perth

What is a Level 2 Home Sleep Test?

A Level 2 sleep study in Perth is a detailed, overnight assessment of your sleep that can be performed in the comfort of your own home. It is designed to measure your breathing, oxygen levels, heart rate, brain activity (EEG), and sleep stages to identify sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), insomnia, or other sleep-related conditions. This is the gold standard testing for sleep apnoea testing in Perth.

Unlike basic home sleep tests in Perth, Level 2 studies provide hospital-grade monitoring with results similar to an in-lab (Level 1) sleep study – without the need to stay overnight in a Perth sleep clinic.

How It Works

  1. GP Referral & Book;  Level 2 home sleep tests in Perth require a GP referral if you want Medicare to cover majority of expenses of the sleep study. We will book you in as quick as possible with a referral.

  2. Equipment Setup – Our team will set you up with a portable sleep study kit. This includes sensors that measure breathing, oxygen, heart rate, body position, brain waves, and muscle activity.

  3. Overnight Recording – You complete the study at home while you sleep naturally in the comfort of your own home. We require you to return the kit the next day.

  4. Data Analysis – The recorded data is reviewed and scored by qualified sleep scientists and doctors.

  5. Specialist Report – A sleep and respiratory physician interprets your results and provides a report back to your doctor.

**** Please note, upon request, we offer travel to the individuals home to set you up in the comfort of your home to ensure the wires are fixed properly for the home sleep tests that night. This will involve an evening appointment where we attend and set you up with the wires, followed by your sleeping in your own bed at home. The equipment must be returned the following day.

Comprehensive Sleep Apnoea Testing

Benefits of a Level 2 Home Sleep Test

  • Comfort – Sleep in your own bed, in your usual environment.

  • Accuracy – Includes EEG (brain waves), making it comparable to in-lab studies.

  • Convenience – No hospital admission or overnight clinic stay required.

  • Early Diagnosis – Identifies sleep apnea and other disorders quickly, so treatment can start sooner.

  • Supports CPAP Therapy – If required, your results help guide treatment with CPAP or alternative therapies.
