At Perth Sleep and CPAP, we are committed to providing high-quality medical care to our patients. Our sleep study and oxygen assessment services are available on weekday and weekends. Please contact us for further information regarding referrals.
1) Pay out of pocket for the whole study
2) Referral from a GP or specialist to access a Medicare rebatable sleep study. (Medicare covers most of the costs) Once referred, the process typically includes:
* Brief in person or phone consult about your sleep
Medicare: Covers majority of the cost of home-based sleep studies for eligible patients with a valid referral.
Private insurance: May offer additional benefits depending on your policy.
A home-based sleep study—also known as a home sleep test (HST) or Level 2 sleep study—is a convenient way to assess sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) from the comfort of your own bed. Rather than staying overnight in a hospital or sleep lab, you’ll use a compact monitoring device at home while you sleep naturally.
Comfortable: Sleep in your own bed, in your usual environment.
Accessible: No need to travel to a sleep clinic or hospital.
Affordable: Often less expensive than in-lab testing, and may be covered by Medicare or private health insurance (with a referral).
Accurate: Modern home sleep testing equipment provides reliable results for diagnosing common sleep disorders.
We will set you up on the night of the study from the clinic and you can head home with the gear attached to you. On the night of your study, you'll wear a portable monitor that records key data while you sleep, including:
Breathing patterns
Oxygen levels
Heart rate
Snoring
Body position
Sleep movement
